Women of Praize Condemns the Supreme Court’s Decision to Overturn Roe v. Wade

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its decision on Dobbs v. Jackson’s Women’s Health Organization overturning Roe v. Wade effectively ending the constitutional right to abortion.

Women of Praize strongly condemns the Supreme Court’s ruling that disproportionately impacts women of color across our nation.

President and CEO Adwoa Rey said, “I am disheartened by the Supreme Court’s decision to end the constitutional right to abortion. The Christian story of redemption from humanity’s fall from grace is predicated on freedom of choice. Bodily autonomy, and a women’s right to choose whether to have an abortion is a sacred right, that must be extended to all and protected.”

“Women of Praize will continue to educate communities about women’s health and support women of color as they feel the devastating and traumatic effects of the Supreme Court’s harmful decision. We will advocate for policies that protect and provide for women of color and their children and families,” she said.

Women of Praize provides spiritual support for women of color in politics as they look to their faith to find purpose and experience fulfillment in their careers. To achieve this goal, we take a holistic approach to helping our members: stay connected to Christ, their inner-selves, and communities; succeed in the workplace; strengthen bonds with family and friends; practice healthy living; and build and maintain wealth.
